The semester works prepared by the students of the Department of Architecture at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts, within the scope of the ARCHE304 Islamic Architectural Ornaments course, were presented to art enthusiasts through the exhibition entitled “Semester Works Exhibition.”
The opening ceremony, held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Ulucanlar Semi-Open Prison Printing House Exhibition Hall, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. İhsan Toktaş, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Akın Aktaş and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Yıldız, faculty members of the Department of Architecture, students, and numerous guests.
During the opening program, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. İhsan Toktaş, gave the first speech, providing information about the exhibition and the works prepared by the students, and emphasized the importance of young architect candidates reinterpreting traditional values with a contemporary perspective. Following him, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Yıldız highlighted that the students’ works contribute to the cultural and artistic life of the university. Finally, the curator of the exhibition, Assist. Prof. Dr. Cemile Feyzan Şimşek, shared insights into the process carried out within the course and drew attention to the students’ efforts.
After the speeches, the exhibition ribbon was cut with the participation of the Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. İhsan Toktaş and Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Akın Aktaş and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Yıldız.
Following the ribbon-cutting, participants toured the exhibition area and viewed the original works of the students with great interest. The exhibition will remain open to visitors between October 1–3, 2025.
